Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1997 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is a May 2015 release by Decca Records. It has received a lot of praise from blogs and the press. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which have been widely praised. The singer gained further attention from a post by Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Enjoy the celebration of this special event. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is when she discovered a grand piano that was in the attic. It was awe-inspiring to see its capabilities. Her parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a career or hobby but to grow. In the end, she began writing songs of her own. Alongside Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Responding to her mother's suggestions that her children shouldn't be trying to be famous through their songwriting skills, she instead realize the importance of themselves as well as their contribution to society. She began playing the piano at age six and writing music at age nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she revealed her plans to her parents. Aurora never dreamed of being famous. The singer says that she simply likes to compose music. According to her, the music she writes is the way that she feels any thing.
