Adults refer to animals or humans who have completed their growth and development. For humans adults have significance that is shaped by the legal and social world. In contrast to "minor" or "non-adult", a legal-age adult is an individual that has reached the age of an age at which they are majority. They are thought to be responsible, independent and capable. They are also known as "majors" They can also be considered to have reached the age of adulthood. Age 18 is the legal adult age, however, this definition may differ by country, legal rights or psychological development.

When it comes to the life span of human beings Adulthood refers to the point in which the person attains full intellectual and physical maturation. Adulthood, as it is generally understood, begins at the age of around 20 or 21. Middle age starts at about 40 years old before being followed by an older age of around 60. As we grow older, there are three distinct stages early adulthood (18-30 years) and Middle Adulthood (30-60 years) and late adulthood (60%-60%). When we reach the early stages of adulthood (between 20-40) the bodies of our children are at their peak of maturity, even though our weight and height could increase slightly. When we reach early adulthood, our physical abilities reach their maximum. They include strength of muscles as well as reaction speed.
